Cafe Django is dedicated to the dynamic spirit of Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club de France’s famous music from the 30s to the 50s. Cafe Django was born out of Le QuecumBar and plays various venues and private events in its special up beat style to enthusiastic audiences as tonight’s seven piece band. It is one of the world’s few (maybe only) harmonica led gypsy swing bands.. Especially with its well earned motto.. "It’s Party Time!!" Peter’s early harmonica inspiration apart from his love of blues was Larry Adler the harmonica virtuoso who recorded 4 tracks with Django and further influenced Peter’s love of gypsy swing jazz. He was later proud to be invited to play at the Celebration of Larry Adler’s Life and put together a group with the great guitarist Diz Disley who re-introduced Stephan Grappelli to the UK in earlier days. PG says “With Cafe Django I have the privilege to play with some of UK’s best musicians and whilst true to the soul of the music we also love including Blues, Country, Louis Jordan, Rock n Roll etc with the same fervour and integrity as gypsy jazz..
