Pianos are also not noted for their portability. However, Mike has quite a pedigree when it comes to travelling with this unwieldy instrument – in 2016 he celebrated his 60th birthday by cycling from Land’s End to John O’groats the long way (via Kent!) towing an electric piano, performing concerts along the way and raising over £12,000 for Children in Need. As well as singing at the piano, Mike plays violin and clarinet; ably accompanied by guitars and bass, think Errol Garner meets Django with an occasional hint of Noel Coward.
