Summit meeting of two of the country's finest!

John Wheatcroft is one of the UK's most respected Jazz guitarists, known as both an artist and an educator. He has performed with artists as diverse as Billy Cobham (Miles Davis), Alex Acuña, John Williams, Frank Gambale (Chick Corea), Paco Peña and Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) and has toured the world with Carl Palmer (ELP) and John Jorgenson (Elton John/ Hellecasters). John currently holds the position of Head of Guitar at BIMM London and is a visiting lecturer for the University of West London (London College of Music) and Chester University. His first book, Improvising Blues Guitar was published by Schott and received rave reviews worldwide and he’s recently released his debut acoustic album, Ensemble Futur, to critical acclaim.

Filippo Dall’Asta is an Italian Gypsy jazz guitarist and composer whose progressive playing takes in a wide range of influences, from the sounds of his native Italy to traditional Indian music. He has toured and recorded with many world-class artists such as Lollo Meier, Mozes Rosenberg, Gypsy Dynamite, Harp Bazaar, Tara Minton (Björk) and The Onironauts. His touring resume covers Germany, India, Italy, France, Spain, England, Malta and Russia, with notable appearances at The Royal Albert Hall, the House of Parliament, the Tower of London, the Union Chapel, and many festivals in France and Italy. Filippo recently released his first solo album, Mediterasian, that combines the energy of Gypsy Jazz with the meditative sonorities of Indian music and was described as “one of the best instrumental albums of 2018” by LA Music Critic Awards.

This will be a tour-de-force display of guitar mastery and a great show as these two luminaries ramp up the musicality to 11.
