Stu Blagden & Lee Clark Manouche Duo
Stu Blagden's musical career began in the late 1980's as guitarist for the Prog Rock band No-Man alongside Prog legends Steve Wilson and TIm Bowness. However Stu's first love was always the music of Django Reinhardt and from the early 1980's Stu would make regular sojourns to Paris to check out Django's successors. Classically trained he studied music at the University of London before leaving to work as a jazz guitarist playing modern jazz as well as Hot Club style. As well as Django's music Stu also studied and played Brazilian music for many years working and recording a cd with the band Caratinga that also featured saxophonist Alison Neale,percussionist Adriano Adewale and Mercury prize nominee cellist Ben Davis. As part of the Duo Panting-Blagden he toured Argentina appearing in major theatres of Buenos Aires as well as appearing at the French Festival de guitare de Vendome. Stu has worked for many years at Le Quecumbar and appeared as the lead guitarist on the Le Quecumbar All-Stars CD. He brings his many years of playing many different styles of guitar music to forge an original fresh take on Gypsy Jazz. He is by joined by highly regarded Hot Club guitarist Lee Clark.
